How to get the most from a Bridal Show

A Bridal Show is an investment in your wedding. Not only can you compare vendors with more ease and speed than normal, but you can score amazing promotions, “show offers”, and prizes for your wedding. The key to getting the most out of a Bridal Show is to be prepared! Below are a few quick tips that are sure to improve your experience.

Buy your ticket early Most shows sell tickets online, and if you buy ahead of time you will get the best price. If it slipped your mind in all the chaos of wedding planning, you can sometimes purchase at the door, however you are risking the show being sold out. You can also ask any vendors that will be in the show if they have any complimentary tickets.

Bring someone along Your fiancé, your mom, your maid of honor, or the whole bunch will add to your support group. They can help you accomplish everything on your to-do list for the day, keep you from getting overwhelmed, and make the experience fun!

Wear comfortable shoes! However long you plan on staying, you will be mostly walking and standing. Also, temperature control is a gamble, so come prepared. It can be too hot with all those people there, or the venue may overcompensate for the crowd by running the AC too much.

Have a Game Plan Chances are you won’t be able to make it to every vendor, and if you did, it’d be more overwhelming than helpful. Before the show, find out which vendors will be in the show, and decide whose booths you want to visit. Keep in mind that many vendors will be offering promotions and drawings that you won’t want to miss!

Bring a camera, a notepad, and a pen You will probably hear or see things that will inspire you. You won’t want to forget the creative DIY altar featured in that one picture, or the exact design or flavor of that unbelievable cake you tasted.

Bring your Checkbook Some deals or dates won’t be around after the bridal show, & some won’t even make it to noon. It’s important to go in knowing your budget and knowing want you want because this is the time to jump on a deal when you hear it.

Don’t shun the Literature Even if you didn't plan on searching for a certain vendor while you’re there, still take brochures and business cards for later. You may see something you like, decide to pass them to another bride, or even end up needing to replace a vendor later on, and having some extra knowledge of what’s out there won’t hurt.

Bonus: Use Contact Labels A nifty tip for a super-organized bride is to bring along address labels with your name, email, and phone number. Use these to place on vendors’ contact sheets, otherwise you’ll be spending valuable time writing the same information over and over.

Now that you're ready for the Bridal Show, don't forget the most important part of the wedding process: enjoy yourself!

Chico Wedding Weekend

If you are recently engaged or looking for great deals and information for your upcoming event, make sure to get your tickets to the upcoming Chico Wedding Weekend.  Swing by our booth for our show promotion and get a great deal on coordination services for your wedding.

You don’t want to miss out on your local bridal shows because this is where you will meet professional & talented vendors who specialize in weddings.  By walking through a bridal show, you will see exhibitor booths for caterers, photographers, wedding planners, DJ’s, wedding venues & more.  Taste samples of wedding cake and entrees like tri-tip & chicken. You will have the opportunity to save money with exclusive bridal show offers, and enter contests to win some sweet prizes.

Tips: Have a game plan on what vendors you still need to secure, to avoid becoming overwhelmed by all of the options. Ask your wedding planner, or do your own research on the vendors before the show so that you can identify what questions you have and you can narrow down which vendors you feel match your needs.  Wear comfortable shoes, bring a bag to hold all of your bridal show goodies & if possible have address labels printed to save you the trouble of handwriting your name and address on all of the contest entry forms!

It's Not Too Late to Hire a Planner!

We are deep in Wedding Season and though many couples may have had their venue booked for 6 months or possible greater than a year before the date; it is not uncommon for couples to hire a Day of Coordinator within a month or two before their event.  "DIY" is a buzzword in the world of wedding planning, and it is an inspiring goal to completely plan and execute your wedding. However, when it gets closer to your event you may get burned out or realize that after all of your hard work planning you just want to be able to relax and enjoy your day.  That is where a Day of Coordinator comes in! As a Day of Coordinator we will organize a timeline for your day to make sure everything runs smoothly.  We meet with you to discuss the specific details of your event and attend your wedding rehearsal and will be the point person for vendors on your wedding day to ensure that everyone arrives on time and tha they are aware of the schedule.

Although we prefer to meet with you earlier than later to get started on your event, we understand that your schedule may have changed or has become more hectic leading up to your event.  There is nothing wrong with asking for help, even if it is just from friends or family members. We recommend writing down anything that you have asked friends or family members to do for you, giving step by step instructions or details of your vision.  One thing to keep in mind is that you don't want to ask too much of your friends or wedding party as you want them to be able to celebrate with you and not stress about getting everything done on time.

Along with Day of Coordination, The 530 Bride also offers Full Service Coordination and The "Finishing Touches" Package for all of your last minute To-Do Items.  Check out our services page or come visit our booth at the upcoming Chico Wedding Weekend for more details!

Wedding Planning Made Easy ~ Why You Should Attend a Local Wedding Expo~

Wedding planning is different for everyone, some do extensive research online before ever talking to vendors, and some go through a wedding coordinator who handles all of the details for them.  No matter where you fall on that spectrum it is still a good idea to take the opportunity to meet local wedding vendors face-to-face and learn about the products and services they offer.  Not sure if a Wedding Expo is your scene? Read on and you might change your mind! Some of the vendors you will meet include Photographers, Videographers, Photo Booth Companies, DJ’s, Wedding Venues & Ceremony Sites, Officiants, Wedding Coordinators & Event Planners, Wedding Cake Decorators/Bakeries, Caterers, Bridal Shops & Formal Wear, Florists, Jewelers, Party Rentals & Décor, Travel Agents, Stationary and more.

Taste samples from caterers and bakeries, drink champagne, and mingle with other brides who are planning their weddings. Bring your walking shoes and a notepad so that you can ask vendors all of your burning questions!  A great piece of advice we found was to have mailing labels made with your contact information so that you can enter into all of the great drawings and raffles for prizes without getting a cramp from writing!

Did the words Drawings & Prizes get your attention?  The expos offer you the chance to win giveaways, discounts and other sweet prizes.  Wedding Dresses, Romance Packages, Beauty Packages, Cakes and other goodies can be yours just by being the lucky winner!

If you are looking for great deals, a wedding expo is the place to be.  Vendors will be offering discounts and deals for booking with them at the expo.  Pick up business cards, brochures, coupons and product information that will help you be more organized when choosing the wedding professionals that are right for you.
